Tech Week has been run by various societies throughout DCU since 2004. Aimed at promoting the use and awareness of technologies, both current and upcoming, it has always been a huge success with events ranging from debates about Bebo and Myspace to Photoshop tutorials to in-depth industry talks given by leading games companies and this website will have all the details of every event.
This year we are branching further out than we ever have. We have gotten more societies involved and even the SU! The societies involved are Strange Things, Gamessoc, Model UN, Journosoc and EngSoc (Engineering Society). Events planned include a Cyber Terrorism simulation by Model UN, a Retro Gaming afternoon with Gamessoc and a 3D Modelling talk with Dave Larkan of RedBrick.
Techweek will once again start with its traditional Launch Party, but this year Strange Things will be holding their annual table quiz at the same time. So whether you want to enter the quiz or come celebrate a whole week of Tech, dress up! Come as a robot, a computer, and iPod or anything you can think of, this is the week for it.
